FASTATTACK. THE HIGH-PRESSURE EXTINGUISHING UNIT

Fast firefighting

FastAttack extinguishes fires very efficiently with high pressure and little water. The extinguishing module is self-sufficient and ready for immediate use.

For this purpose, the extinguishing unit is equipped with a petrol-operated motor pump with electric starter. The speed is automatically increased when water is drawn. The extinguishing unit can be used with or without an integrated tank and, with a water reservoir of e.g. 210 liters, can effectively fight vegetation fires in forests and terrain in the first rapid deployment.

The high-pressure extinguishing system achieves the highest extinguishing effect with the smallest possible amount of water.

The low water volume and evaporation reduce the amount of contaminated extinguishing water and minimize water damage to houses and plants.

FastAttack functions

Extinguishing by cooling

The high pressure leads to ultra-fine atomization at the lance. Water emerges with an extremely large surface area. This absorbs a great deal of heat energy from the fire and the water evaporates. The thermal energy for the change of aggregate state is extracted from the fire. This extinguishes the fire and protects people and surfaces from heat.

Inertization - extinguishing by smothering

The formation of water vapor is accompanied by a further 1600-fold increase in volume. This displaces the oxygen that is important for the fire and the low oxygen concentration leads to the fire being smothered (inerting process).

Inhibition of radiant energy

In addition to preventing the supply of oxygen to the fire, the water vapor also inhibits gases and heat from reaching people or surfaces. This creates a protective barrier.

Areas of application

  • Vegetation fires: As the high-pressure extinguishing unit is completely self-sufficient, it can be loaded onto ATVs or pick-ups, for example. Even terrain that is difficult to access can be reached quickly, such as forests, peaty ground, marsh or grainfields.
  • Incipient fires: Very short set-up times and the existing water tank (1080 T) ensure efficient initial deployment. Sources of fire are extinguished quickly, for example room fires or vehicle fires.
  • Pockets of embers: The high pressure of the 280 bar water jet successfully reaches fires that are smoldering under the surface and that are otherwise almost impossible to extinguish. Typical examples are marsh fires and fires in grain stores, for example.
  • Fire classes A and B.

Technology in detail

  • FastAttack is a powerful extinguishing unit with a 2-cylinder motor with automatic speed control and a high-quality ceramic piston pump with bronze connecting rod that delivers 18 liters per minute at 280 bar.
  • 4 handles make the extinguishing unit portable. This means it can be installed and used in a variety of ways. For example, on a portable fire pump carriage in a fire engine or on off-road vehicles such as ATVs/ UTVs, pick-ups, vans or even in boats. Instead of on the portable fire pump carriage, it can be secured with its own pull-outs or trolley concepts or lashed down with a load securing system.
  • The long-distance lance only has low repulsive force, so that the entire fire unit can be operated by one person. Spraying distances of up to 15 m can be achieved with the long-distance lance. This means good accessibility in difficult terrain and a good safety distance from the flame. The long-distance lance is seamlessly variable from point to cone-shaped water jet.

FastAttack - the battle with surprising extinguishing performance

Technical data and basic physical principles make it clear in theory: FastAttack extinguishes efficiently! We wanted to find out, so we gave it a try in the field and forest and put it to the test.

Here in the video FastAttack on a Kraka-Quad in a field fire battle against "common" extinguishing technology.

  • FastAttack: 21 liters of water and 1:42 min. extinguishing time,
  • that is only 10% water consumption and 56% time requirement compared to
  • conventional extinguishing technology: 198 liters of water and 3:01 min. extinguishing time.

We would like to thank the local fire department for this "practical test"! This is how new "ideas from practice" are created time and again!
