Porky's Pick Up for fattening pigs and Porky's Pick Up XL for sows fundamentally revolutionise carcass transport. The dead animal is picked up without any physical strain or contact. With the self-propelled Porky ́s Pick Up, you go right up to the animal in the pen. With three electric pick-up rollers, the animal is pulled onto the vehicle at the push of a button. Transporker is light, small and is carried by hand directly to the carcass. The Meier-Brakenberg success story began in the late 1990s. At that time, we realized that there was no good solution for soaking a barn before cleaning. So we developed a soaking system ourselves and installed it in our barns.

Word spread quickly. More and more pig farms approached us. We designed customized, electronically controlled soaking systems for them to install themselves. These were delivered by Wolfgang Meier himself. In 1998, we booked a small booth at EuroTier and presented our system to the entire agricultural world in Hanover. Farmers were enthusiastic about this solution, which revolutionized barn cleaning

The same high resonance was achieved by our weighing machine for individual animals two years later. Again, an idea born from necessity. Just like all the other farmers we had used outdated analogue equipment and obtained rather vague results. No place in the world to buy a weighing machine for precise digital weighing of animals one by one until Meier-Brakenberg presented their weighing technology innovation at the EuroTier in 2000. That’s what many livestock farmers had been waiting for and we started serial production right away.

We manufacture prototypes, install them in our fattening farm and optimise them under real life conditions for as long as it is necessary to reach market maturity. These field tests raise our awareness for decisive details in product developments and product improvements. By doing so we can perfectly solve all those allegedly inconsiderable tasks we are facing during everyday work.
